Welcome to the Early Intervention Program!
The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to serve students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth that are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level performance as defined in the state Early Intervention Program Guidelines. It is designed to help students reach reading and/or math grade level performance goals in the shortest time possible. Instruction is provided in addition to students’ regular classroom instruction and is designed to increase academic achievement.
Units of Instruction
Reading and math instruction is aligned with the units taught in the students' classrooms. Initial instruction is given in the regular classroom and students receive additional support in the EIP classroom.
Homework Policy
Homework is assigned from students' own classrooms in grades 3-5. However, first and second grade EIP students are given “Mustang Readers” book bags to take home to practice reading each night. Please help your child practice their reading fluency and sign their papers each night.
Class Rules and Expectations
Students in EIP are expected to ROCK! Our classroom supports the school-wide discipline plan of "Mustangs ROCK" in which students are expected to be Respectful, On Task, Concerned citizens, and Kind to one another. This fosters a positive learning environment in which all students can succeed.
